Washingtonian and Story Partners kick off the White House Correspondents’ weekend by hosting our annual Washington Women in Journalism Awards. We’re proud to recognize our honorees:

  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Andrea Mitchell, NBC
  • Outstanding Journalist in Broadcast: Abby Phillip, CNN
  • Outstanding Journalist in Print: Ashley Parker, The Washington Post
  • Rising Star: Amanda Terkel, The Huffington Post

Women journalists play an invaluable role in the media industry and are some of the bravest, most caring, and smartest journalists I know.  However, they are often under recognized for their breakthroughs and contributions in our industry. That’s why we founded this event – to celebrate the success of some of those outstanding women journalists here in Washington D.C.
