Story Partners, a DC-based public affairs agency, is seeking a director to develop and implement media and communications strategies on behalf of its food and agriculture client base. The successful candidate will have a solid record of achievement in generating media placements, a persuasive writing portfolio, and a passion for providing outstanding client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with client teams to develop and execute strategic public affairs campaigns for food and agriculture clients
  • Leverage media relations expertise to develop news hooks and generate strategic media placements
  • Maintain, cultivate, and strengthen relationships with Beltway, trade, national and local media, as well as key reporters and influencers in the farm and food press
  • Draft and edit content for newsletters, press releases, op-eds, bylined articles, social media posts, websites, blogs, infographics, etc.
  • Develop and execute creative social media campaigns for food and agriculture clients
  • Craft messages and narrative to advance client positions in the press and through social media engagement
  • Develop and implement executive positioning and thought leadership campaigns for clients

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience working in press operations or journalism, with at least two years of experience as a press secretary, or similar, on Capitol Hill
  • Knowledge and interest in farm and food policy
  • Reporter, blogger, and producer contacts
  • Strong writer with a persuasive writing portfolio
  • Well-organized with an ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent media contacts, strong media pitching skill, and a solid record of achievement in generating media placements
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Assistant Vice President, Public Affairs

Story Partners, a DC-based public affairs agency, is seeking an assistant vice president to lead public affairs campaigns for clients, primarily in the energy and transportation sectors. The successful candidate will have 7-10 years of public affairs experience, with at least three years in a public relations agency.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute integrated public affairs campaigns that include online and traditional media, grassroots advocacy, executive positioning, reputation management, crisis communications and thought-leadership
  • Serve as account manager or deputy account manager
  • Supervise junior staff member and interns (as needed)
  • Collaborate with team to develop compelling communication assets, including infographics, media materials, videos, websites and more.
  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with Beltway, trade, national, local and online media and generate strategic media placements
  • Build client relationships that lead to incremental new business opportunities
  • Participate in business development opportunities such as brainstorming and building campaign strategies, preparing new business proposals and presentations
  • Manage external vendors such as media buyers, publishers, photographers, videographers, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Seven to ten years of public affairs experience, with at least three years in a public relations agency

Digital Media Designer

Story Partners, a DC-based public affairs agency, is seeking a Digital Media Designer to produce digital story telling campaigns through social media, photography and short-form video for multiple clients. 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to and working with the Creative Director, the Digital Media Designer will have responsibility for the following:

  • Design and produce high-quality visual designs to convey a story narrative through social media content, including animated and static online ads, email graphics, share graphics, motion graphics, interactive design, GIFs, memes, video and other multimedia products
  • Design and develop content for desktop, web and mobile devices
  • Produce new media content (video, motion graphics and audio production)
  • Manage and produce digital design work, including sizing and versioning
  • Create high-end graphics and multimedia content for high-visibility presentations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital design, graphic design, graphic communications or related field
  • Minimum 3 years professional design experience, preferably at a digital agency
  • Strong portfolio of design work
  • Experience with animation, motion graphics, video editing and digital audio production
  • Proficient knowledge in video editing (Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro)
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat, as well as MS PowerPoint
  • Website design & basic HTML coding experience preferred

Digital Strategist

Story Partners, a DC-based public affairs agency, is seeking a Digital Strategist to manage online and social media campaigns. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience with community management, content strategy, online advertising, and social analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage digital and social media campaigns for clients across multiple platforms
  • Responsible for ongoing social community management, monitoring and reporting
  • Plan and execute online advertising and search engine marketing campaigns, including planning, buying, budgeting, and optimization
  • Develop analytic reports for social communities and paid advertising campaigns to properly measure effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for strategy and improvements
  • Monitor social media conversations and trends to identify opportunities for clients to leverage story telling opportunities in real-time
  • Stay apprised of social trends, research and best practices to identify new opportunities and solutions for clients

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years digital project management experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing social communities for brands, companies, nonprofits or issue-based organizations.

Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Story Partners, a DC-based public affairs agency, is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide front-desk and general office management assistance.  The successful candidate must be a dependable, responsible, organized, self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This is an ideal position for a candidate who has served as a Scheduler in a congressional office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary staff for front desk telephone and reception coverage
  • Schedule travel, meetings and catering for senior executives
  • Maintain office supplies and budgets
  • Organize in-office meetings and interviews
  • Maintain and update marketing and client databases and distribution lists
  • Assist accounting department with monthly client billings
  • Onboard new employees
  • Maintain vacation schedules and track paid-time-off (PTO)
  • Prepare and submit expense reports for senior executives
  • Serve as the point of contact for IT and other vendors
  • Work with the executive team to plan marketing events
  • Update, maintain, and distribute internal directories, calendars, and lists
  • Coordinate, organize and manage marketing events and receptions, including the development and distribution of invite lists, securing vendors and coordinating set-up with vendors
  • Conduct personal tasks for the Chairman
  • Ensure operation of equipment and maintain office supplies and equipment inventories
  • Assist account teams with media monitoring, media list development, client research, etc.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years’ experience as an Executive Assistant or a Scheduler on Capitol Hill is required.
